Good Omens and My First Giveaway!

First, I would like to celebrate for a moment that today the number of times this blog has been viewed shot way over 1,000 and is sitting somewhere around 1,300 right now. I don’t know if another blogger would be really exited but I am! Thank you all for reading. In celebration and appreciation, read below for my first giveaway!

I love to read and I’m a fan of Neil Gaiman, among other authors. A very good friend, who writes Wolf's Quill, introduced me to Gaiman and I’ve always been grateful.

My favorite book by Neil Gaiman is co-authored by Terry Pratchett. It’s entitled Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch.

If you have ever thought about reading a book by either author you should start with this one. It’s a romping good time…well as much fun as you can have sitting quietly reading a book. I happen to find that particular activity to be incredibly enjoyable. My husband, David, is trying to find some of the joy I do in reading and Good Omens is his first attempt. He’s about a third of the way though the book. Not bad for someone who doesn’t really enjoy reading that much!

If you read Good Omens you must take the time to read and enjoy all of the footnotes. I hated footnotes until this book and now I love them…so long as they are funny and entertaining. I wonder if Gaiman and Pratchett had written some of the footnotes in my college textbooks if studying would have been more enjoyable. I’m pretty sure it would have been.

I don’t want to give much away but I will say that this is a very humorous book about Armageddon and the gray area between good and evil.

So what am I giving away?
It’s a free copy of Good Omens! (Value $14.99)

  2. My favorite fiction author is Roald Dahl, but it's not his children's books I love. It's his adult short stories. They are creepy and fabulous!
